40 Ways Sugar Can Ruin Your Health

Many people who know I do not eat sugar, ask me ‘why not’? So, I’ve decided to list all of the reasons below. It came from my Doctor of Natural Health and Certified Nutritionist. Now, when we talk about the types of ‘bad’ sugars, we are talking about refined and processed sugars (i.e., sugar, high fructose corn syrup, etc.). I hope it helps educate you and motivate you to kick the sugar habit, too.

1. Sugar will suppress the immune system

2. Sugar contributes to a weakened defense against bacterial infection

3. Sugar can produce a significant rise in triglycerides

4. Sugar can upset the body’s mineral balance

5. Sugar interferes with absorption of calcium and magnesium

6. Sugar can cause colon cancer, with an increased risk in women
